(Update) Changes to Cards in the September 25 Release

(Update)
We discovered an issue where playing the cards listed in this announcement in the Gems of Fortune Cup would cause the match to end in a draw when players ended their turn. This issue has been resolved. However the computer opponent's cards will NOT reflect the changes listed in this announcement when you select a Rotation (Prerelease) deck in the solo Practice mode. We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this issue has caused.

---

Greetings, Shadowverse fans! In the September 25 (PT) release, we'll be making changes to 7 cards. This is an explanation of what we're changing and why.

What's Changing

1. Shield of Flame's effect will be changed.
2. Council of Card Knights' cost will be decreased.
3. Chromatic Duel's Enhance cost will be decreased and its effect will be changed.
4. Dark Dragoon Forte's one-card restriction in Unlimited will be lifted.
5. Shadow Reaper's cost will be decreased.
6. Little Soulsquasher's defense will be increased.
7. Gremory's Enhance cost will be decreased.

Since the above cards are being strengthened, they will not produce more vials when liquefied.

The Current Game Environment

After going over high-ranking match data for early September in the Rotation and Unlimited formats we've found that no top-ranking deck archetype holds an overwhelming win or usage rate. We're also anticipating changes to the game environment with the release of Verdant Conflict on September 25. We've therefore decided not to change any cards for these archetypes at this time.

Our high-ranking match data also showed that players going first in Rotation had win rates of 50.2% (compared with 48.5% in late July) across all deck archetypes, while in Unlimited players going first had a 52.6% win rate across all deck archetypes (compared with 51.5% in late July.)

We review one-card restrictions or card bans for Unlimited when a new card set is added. We also take a look at cards which were modified while they were in Rotation that will soon be rotating out, and make a decision on whether to restore cards to their original state. This time we are either lifting the one-card restriction or reverting stats on several cards to address the issue of low win and usage rates for certain classes in Unlimited and to further diversify the game environment.

Take Two Runs

These changes will also be applied to all Take Two decks after maintenance, even decks that are being used in the middle of a five-match run.

Prerelease (Rotation) Decks in the Solo Practice Mode

After the September 18 update, if you select a Rotation (Prerelease) deck in the Practice mode, the computer opponent's cards will reflect the above updates. For details about the prerelease, please see the "Verdant Conflict Card Pack Prerelease" announcement.

Future Changes to Cards

We routinely review match data in the Shadowverse Team. In order to maintain a great game environment, we change card costs and effects and boost the number of vials that are available from liquefying cards when their strength is decreased. This includes both of our constructed formats, Rotation and Unlimited. In addition to the card changes we've made in the past and card changes targeted at Rotation, we will designate cards to have a one-card restriction or card bans for Unlimited.

Any future changes to card costs and effects will be announced in advance, and then changes will generally be made the next day. The next card adjustments are scheduled for October 28 (PT).

Even if there are no changes made to cards, we'll still make an announcement. If emergency changes are deemed necessary, we may make changes, specify restrictions, or specify banned cards before the scheduled update.

That's all for now! See you next update!
