Changes to Cards in the November 24 Release

Greetings, Shadowverse fans! In the November 24 (PT) release, we'll be making changes to 2 cards. This is an explanation of what we're changing and why.

What's Changing?

1. Alice, Wonderland Explorer's effect will be changed.
2. Queen of the Dread Sea's attack, defense, and effect will be changed.

Since Alice, Wonderland Explorer and Queen of the Dread Sea are being strengthened, they will not receive a vial bonus when being liquefied.

The Current Game Environment

Rotation

After going over high-ranking match data from early November, we found no top deck archetypes with an overwhelming win or usage rate. We've therefore decided not to change any cards in this format. The win rate for players going first in this format decreased to 52.9% from 53.3% in early October.

Unlimited

After going over high-ranking match data from early November, we found that for players going first the win rate was 50.6% across all deck archetypes (compared with 52.6% in early October). While the win and usage rates for some top deck archetypes was slightly high, we've decided that no immediate card adjustments need to be made.

The reason we've decided against any immediate changes is because of the high degree of fluidity in the Unlimited environment. Whenever a card pack has been added, we've noticed changes to existing deck archetypes as well as the addition of new archetypes. With the addition of the Verdant Conflict additional cards on November 24 (PT) and changes to the two cards below, we expect the Unlimited environment to remain fluid.

In the past we've reviewed Unlimited match data when deciding to revert cards that were changed in Rotation. While we're not reverting Alice, Wonderland Explorer and Queen of the Dread Sea back to their original effects, we are strengthening their current versions. Alice, Wonderland Explorer's effect was changed when it was in Rotation to balance its strength in matches where players go first. We've kept that change while also adding an Evolve effect that makes it similar to its original version. And in Queen of the Dread Sea's case, we've restored its original attack and defense and strengthened its effect so that it's both a) close to what it was before it was changed in Rotation and b) able to better synergize with cards in upcoming packs.

Details

1. Alice, Wonderland Explorer's Evolve effect will be changed.
Before:
No evolve effect.

After:
Evolve: Give +0/+1 to all other allied Neutral followers in your hand and in play.

2. Queen of the Dread Sea's attack and defense will be increased from 5 (evolved: 7) to 7 (evolved: 9) and its effect will be changed.
Before:
Fanfare: Subtract 5 from the cost of a Neutral card (excluding Queen of the Dread Sea) and a non-Neutral card in your hand. Then discard all other cards in your hand.

After:
Fanfare: Subtract 20 from the cost of a Neutral card (excluding Queen of the Dread Sea) and a non-Neutral card in your hand. Then discard all other cards in your hand.

Take Two and Open 6 Runs

These changes will also be applied to all Take Two and Open 6 decks after maintenance, even decks that are being used in the middle of a five-match run.

Future Changes to Cards

We routinely review match data in the Shadowverse Team. In order to maintain a great game environment, we change card costs and effects and boost the number of vials that are available from liquefying cards when their strength is decreased. This includes both of our constructed formats, Rotation and Unlimited. In addition to the card changes we've made in the past and card changes targeted at Rotation, we will designate cards to have a one-card restriction or card bans for Unlimited.

Any future changes to card costs and effects will be announced in advance, and then changes will generally be made the next day. The next card adjustments are scheduled for December 27 (PT).

Even if there are no changes made to cards, we'll still make an announcement. If emergency changes are deemed necessary, we may make changes, specify restrictions, or specify banned cards before the scheduled update.

That's all for now! See you next update!
