Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2020 Postponed

First, we would like to extend our condolences to all those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We would also like to show our appreciation and upmost respect to the medical personnel on the frontlines and behind the scenes combating this crisis.

Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2020 was announced for June 2021, but we have been carefully monitoring the situation with COVID-19. As entry into Japan continues to be restricted in accordance to the state of emergency declared by the Japanese government, it may not be possible for all of our invitees from outside Japan to come and participate. Due to this, we have unfortunately decided to postpone Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2020 once again.

As the safety of our participants, staff, and all others involved are our highest priority, we ask for your understanding and sincerely apologize to all who were looking forward to the event.

Currently, we are looking into combining Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2020 with Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2021, which is planned for the end of this year, into one event. The 24 players invited to Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2020 would be pooled together with the 24 players for Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2021, making for a total of 48 players. This would require us to consider tournament formats that are fair and competitive for such a large number of players, as well as the possibility of offering two Grand Prix's worth of prize money.

We will be doing all we can to plan an event that everyone can safely enjoy. New details and developments will be shared on our official website and social media platforms once they have been decided on.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
