Changes to Cards in the November 25 Release

In the November 25 (PT) update changes will be made to the following. Changes will be made to the following cards:

Changes

1. Skull Ring's cost will be increased by 1 and Last Words effect will be changed.

2. Hippogryph Rider's cost will be increased by 1.

For a limited time after the update Skull Ring and Hippogryph Rider will produce more vials when liquefied.

The Current Game Environment

Rotation

According to the data we gathered in mid-November from high-ranking Rotation matches, Arcus Shadowcraft, midrange decks that include Arcus, Ghostly Manager, has the highest win rate at 59.1% and the highest usage rate at 16.2%. Since the next highest decks don't present any problems, we've decided only a change to Arcus Shadowcraft is necessary at this time.

Unlimited

According to the data we gathered in mid-November from high-ranking Unlimited matches, Midrange Shadowcraft, featuring Demonlord Eachtar, has the highest win rate at 58.5% and the highest usage rate at 14.5%, followed by Aggro Dragoncraft, a deck focused on low cost aggressive followers, with a win rate of 57.2% and usage rate of 10.0%. Since these two decks have a particularly high win percentage, we've decided a change to both is necessary.

We've found that, across all deck archetypes, players going first had a win rate of 52.2% in Rotation (up from 51.8% in early October) and a win rate of 53.3% in Unlimited (down from 53.7% in early October).

Taking in to account the decks with the highest win rates and win rates for players going first, we've decided to make changes to Skull Ring and Hippogryph Rider; two cards that most benefit players going first.

Details

1. Skull Ring's cost will be increased from 3 to 4 and the Necromancy cost will be removed from its Last Words effect.

Before:
Countdown (2)
Fanfare: Summon 2 Skeletons.
Last Words: Necromancy (2) - Reanimate (2)

After:
Countdown (2)
Fanfare: Summon 2 Skeletons.
Last Words: Reanimate (2)

2. Hippogryph Rider's cost will be increased from 5 to 6.

Temporary Vial Bonus

- Skull Ring will produce 50 vials.
- Hippogryph Rider will produce 200 vials.

The cards above will produce more vials when liquefied from the November 25 update until the next scheduled major update on December 26 (PT).

Take Two Runs

These changes will also be applied to all Take Two decks after maintenance, even decks that are being used in the middle of a five-match run.

Future Changes to Cards

We routinely review match data in the Shadowverse Team. In order to maintain a great game environment, we change card costs and effects and boost the number of vials that are available from liquefying cards when their strength is reduced. This includes both of our constructed formats, Rotation and Unlimited. In addition to the card changes we've made in the past and card changes targeted at Rotation, we will designate cards to have a one-card restriction or card bans for Unlimited.

Any future changes to card costs and effects will be announced in advance, and then changes will generally be made the next day. See below for the next change announcement.

December 26 (PT)

This date is subject to change. Even if there are no changes made to cards, we'll still make an announcement. If emergency changes are deemed necessary, we may make changes, specify restrictions, or specify banned cards before the above date.
