This update includes the following:

Season Update Schedule

Going forward, each season will start on the first day of the month at 11:00 a.m. in Japanese Standard Time. In Pacific Time, this will be the last day of the month at 6:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00 p.m. (PDT).

Specific features will be updated either monthly or every three months, as follows:

- Throwback Rotation card sets
- Challenge mode format
- Card sets with increased leader draw rates
- Cards available in Legendary Card Packs
- Cards available in Throwback Rotation Select Packs.

Updates Every Three Months

- Battle Pass

Furthermore, the following events will take place every season:
- a Victory Rewards event starting on the 1st (JST)
- a Throwback Rotation Grand Prix starting on the 11th (JST)
- a Grand Prix in another format starting on the 21st (JST)
Note: February dates will differ.

Notes:
- There will be no maintenance in between seasons. Instead, players will be returned to the title screen when the season is updated.
- Battles that are in progress when the season is updated will not end in a tie. Any results will count towards the previous season's rankings, Master Score, and rewards. However, if the app is closed before the battle has ended, players will not be able to continue the match.

Throwback Rotation

The current Rotation format will be replaced with Throwback Rotation. In this format, players will battle it out using cards from a previous rotation. To keep things fresh, the usable card sets will cycle every month.
Note: As previously announced, the Unlimited format will continue to be available.

Rules

- In addition to basic cards, players can only use cards from the specified rotation.
- With some exceptions, the abilities of the cards will be as they were before they were originally rotated out. The abilities of cards that do not appear in Throwback Rotation will not be changing based on when they were rotated out.

Example 1: Forge Weaponry
The ability of Forge Weaponry will be as follows.
- If the card pool for Throwback Rotation is card sets 11–15 (Altersphere–Colosseum):
Give +2/+2 to an allied follower.
- If the card pool for Throwback Rotation is card sets 13–17 (Rebirth–Fortune):
Give +2/+2 to an allied follower.
Rally (10): Give +4/+4 instead.

Example 2: Dark Angel Olivia
The cost and ability of Dark Angel Olivia will be as follows.
- If the card pool for Throwback Rotation is card sets 11–15 (Altersphere–Colosseum):
Cost: 7
Fanfare: If it's a turn you are able to evolve, increase your evolution points to 3.

Cards in Other Formats

Card abilities within all of the following formats will also change to match the current card pool in Throwback Rotation.
- Unlimited
- Custom Rotation
- Cross Craft
- Gems of Fortune
- Hero Battle

Example
If the current card pool for Throwback Rotation is card sets 23–27 (Vellsar–Paradise), the available cards will be as they were just prior to the release of the 28th card set, Academy of Ages.

Event Update Schedule

- The usable cards for Throwback Rotation will be updated on the first day of each month at 11:00 a.m. in Japanese Standard Time. In Pacific Time, this will be the last day of the month at 6:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00 p.m. (PDT).

Card That Differ from the Original Rotation

The abilities of the following cards have been changed from their original rotation due to bug issues or the addition of the Stack mechanic. Below are the cards that will not be reverting to their original versions before they were rotated out.

Cards changed as of July 1st:
- Sentry Gate
- Treacherous Reversal
- One-Tailed Fox
- Rat Magician

Card with usage restrictions:
- Jormungand

Cards with their original stats but a changed ability:
- Minthe of the Underworld
Cost: 4
Attack: 3
Defense: 4
When this follower comes into play, gain 20 shadows. When this follower leaves play, lose 20 shadows. (Transformation doesn't count as leaving play.)
Whenever you perform Necromancy, gain X shadows. X equals the Necromancy cost.

Defense: 5
Fanfare: Give your leader the following effect - The next time you play a follower with Fanfare effects (excluding Choose and targeted effects), repeat them once. (This effect is not stackable.)

Cards with text changes only due to the addition of the Stack mechanic:

Changes to Grand Master Ranking Requirements and Rewards

Grand Master requirements will be adjusted as follows:
- The Master Score needed to reach Grand Master 0 in both the Throwback Rotation and Unlimited formats will be reduced from 10,000 to 5,000.
- Master Scores will now be reset to 0 every month.
- The Master Score needed to reach Grand Master 1, 2, and 3 remains unchanged at 10,000 for each rank.
- The premium sleeves awarded for reaching Grand Master 0 are silver-colored versions of the original sleeves for that rotation. These sleeves can be carried over to Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.

The Master Score ranking rewards will also be adjusted, as follows:

- 1 seer's globe
- 20 Throwback Rotation card pack tickets
- 5,000 vials

501st–5,000th Place:
- 10 Throwback Rotation card pack tickets
- 2,500 vials

Furthermore, those who obtain Grand Master rank during the new season will receive the following rewards in the Throwback Rotation and Unlimited formats, respectively.

Challenge Mode Renewed

A Challenge mode event will be held each month using the format and card pool from one of the previously used Take Two, Take Two All-Stars, or Take Two Tactics events. Open 6 matches will no longer be held, and the format of Take Two private matches will match that of the ongoing Challenge mode event.

- The format and usable cards will be updated on the first day of each month at 11:00 a.m. in Japanese Standard Time. In Pacific Time, this will be the last day of the month at 6:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00 p.m. (PDT).

Notes:
- With some exceptions, the abilities of the cards will be as they were during the original event.
- Open 6 achievements that have been completed will remain visible, and incomplete ones will be hidden.

Custom Rotation Permanently Available

Custom Rotation, which has to date only been available as a limited-time format, will be permanently available.

Rules

- Players can create decks using card sets 1–6 (Standard–Starforged), or any five consecutive card sets through to the 32nd set (Heroes of Shadowverse). Resurgent Cards can also be used.

Furthermore, leaders will have the following bonus abilities depending on the selected card sets.

Card sets 1–11 (Standard–Altersphere)
- At the start of turns you can evolve, gain 2 play point orbs.
- At the start of turns you can evolve, if you have 0 evolution points, recover 2. [1 time]
- At the start of your first turn, draw 2 cards.

Card sets 12–21 (Rebellion–Renascent)
- At the start of turns you can evolve, gain 1 play point orb.
- At the start of turns you can evolve, if you have 0 evolution points, recover 1. [1 time]
- At the start of your first turn, draw 1 card.

Card sets 22–32 (Calamity–Heroes)
- No bonus effects

Custom Rotation Card Restrictions

Following the v4.6.0 update, certain cards will be banned or have 1-card restrictions in order to maintain game balance.



- Gilnelise, Ravenous Craving (banned)

The Shadowverse team will continue to pay close attention to match analytics in order to improve game experience. Additional restrictions will be applied after the update on August 1 (JST). Please note that cards added to the Custom Rotation restriction list for this purpose will not receive a vial bonus when being liquefied.

Features That Now Support Custom Rotation

- Create New Deck and Edit Deck
- Unranked matches
- Private matches
- Player tournaments
- Practice
Note: Custom Rotation decks cannot be used in story mode.

Shop Updates

Throwback Rotation Card Packs

- Throwback Rotation card packs will be added to the Shop. These packs can only be purchased using Throwback Rotation card pack tickets.
- All cards included in the cards sets for the current Throwback Rotation will be available, including leader cards and alternate-art cards.

Higher Rates for Leader Cards from Specified Card Sets

- The leader cards from card sets belonging to a current Throwback Rotation card set will appear at a higher rate.
- The card packs for each of the specified card sets (e.g. Academy of Ages) will continue to be available for purchase using rupies and crystals.
- Card pack points will continue to be accumulated with each pack purchased.

Changes to Legendary Card Packs

- Legendary card packs will now contain cards from the current Throwback Rotation card sets.

Shop Update Schedule

- Available cards and card appearance rates for each of the shop items above will be updated on the first day of each month at 11:00 a.m. in Japanese Standard Time. In Pacific Time, this will be the last day of the month at 6:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00 p.m. (PDT).

Addition of Throwback Rotation Select Packs

In line with the changes to the Rotation format, the Rotation Select Pack will be repaced by the Throwback Rotation Select Pack.

This 10-card-pack bundle and will only include cards from the current Throwback Rotation pool, both Neutral cards and cards from the class you select. The tenth pack has a guaranteed legendary card.

The Throwback Rotation Select Pack will be available for 1,000 crystals, and can be purchased up to 5 times per account. The cards available through this pack will be updated on the first day of each month at 11:00 a.m. in Japanese Standard Time. In Pacific Time, this will be the last day of the month at 6:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00 p.m. (PDT).

Battle Pass

The Battle Pass will continue to be refreshed every three months. The supply items from previous passes will also be available for purchase from the Shop.

Further information will be released every three seasons in the lead up to each Battle Pass refresh.

Changes to Cards

To achieve better game balance in the Unlimited format, changes to cards will be made as follows:



- Despair Reborn (Neutral)

Before
At the start of turns you are able to evolve, if this match is Unlimited, change the cost of this card to 4.

After
At the end of turns you are able to evolve, if this match is Unlimited, change the cost of this card to 4.

For a limited time after the update, the following card will produce more vials when liquefied until the next season update:
- Despair Reborn (Neutral)

*If you log in right before the season updates, the number of vials when liquefied might not appear correctly. It can be fixed by returning to the title page after the season updates.

Victory Rewards Event Update

After the v4.6.0 update, treasure chests will be made obtainable from both ranked matches and Challenge mode.

Star Feature for Emblems, Sleeves, and Flairs

A new feature accessible from your Profile and Decklist you can use to star your favorite emblems, sleeves, and flairs. You can find all your starred supplies under the Starred category.

Updates to Trial Decks

With the addition of Throwback Rotation, Temporary Decks available in the Trial feature will be updated. The Temporary Decks for the most recent card set in the current rotation will be available to use.

Updates to Tournament Winning Decks

With the addition of Throwback Rotation, tournament winning decks relevant to the current rotation will be displayed first for the convenience of features like Deck Copy.

Changes to Title Screen and Download Screen

The title screen will reflect the most recent card set in the current Throwback Rotation, and corresponding story summaries will be displayed on the download screen.

Changes to the Rankings Screen

The 5-win streak ranking for Challenge Mode and Open 6 will be adjusted so results can be viewed per season.

Disclaimers

- The game will be inaccessible during maintenance.
- After maintenance begins, any ongoing multiplayer match will end in a tie.
- After maintenance begins, progress for any ongoing solo play matches will be lost.
- If you close the game or place the device in sleep mode from a battle screen after maintenance begins, an ongoing multiplayer match may end in a loss, and this loss cannot be reversed.
- If you close the game or place the device in sleep mode from a battle screen after maintenance begins, the game may become irresponsive. In such a case, please restart the game.
- The game may not function as intended if a private match is started after the maintenance begins. In such a case, please close the game without issuing any commands.
- Maintenance may end before or after the stated time.
- It may take longer for some players to receive the update.
- If you're not able to update the game, it may be due to the cached data on the device. Please try turning off your device, restarting it after a couple of minutes have passed, and then try again.
- Saved replay data will be deleted, and will be unable to playback after the maintenance.
- Player Tournaments that are in progress or scheduled will be canceled.
- Please be sure to also back up your game data in case your device is lost or broken.
