Shadowverse University League

Starting in April 2019, the Shadowverse University League will be kicking off! Contenders participate in teams of five. There will be four seasons held in a year, with a champion for each season. The qualifiers will be played online, whereas the finals will be held offline and broadcasted. After the seasons have concluded, the champions from each season will battle it out in a championship tournament. A total of 5,000,000 JPY in cash prizes will be awarded to winners throughout the year.

Starting in January 2019, pre-league registration will begin on the Shadowverse University League official site. We look forward to seeing the victors of the first-ever Shadowverse University League!

JCG Shadowverse Open: The1 Million Yen Tournament

The JCG Shadowverse Open: The1 Million Yen Tournament is being planned for 2019. Playable formats will include Rotation, Unlimited, and Take Two. A series of online matches will be held over the course of a week, culminating in a 1,000,000 JPY grand prize for the champion!

New Story Arc: Gears of Rebellion

Following up from the Guild War storyline, our heroes will embark on new adventures in the upcoming Gears of Rebellion story arc. The protagonists find themselves in Aiolon, a metropolis of machines ruled by the ruthless Belphomet. Working together with an awakened robot, Tetra, our heroes must come together to face this new threat. This new story is set to be released in March 2019.

Just as we've released cards featuring characters from the Guild War story, we might also release cards featuring Gears of Rebellion characters. Keep an eye out for news!

New Communication Functions

Players will be able to create communities and use them to stay updated with other members. Community features will include being able to share decks and replays, search for opponents, and more.

Special Grand Prix Tournaments

Winter Cup 2018 allowed players to experience a Take Two All-Stars special format. There's also a special Grand Prix in the works for March 2019, and we plan to periodically hold more of these different Grand Prix throughout 2019.

New Arena Mode

A new arena mode in which players can play a match using the cards from newly purchased card packs will be added. This mode is especially recommended for players who are just starting out and might not yet have all the cards they need to create their own customized decks. Release is planned for summer 2019. More details will be shared as they become available!

2019 will see Shadowverse teaming up with more titles for tie-in events! Here's a look at some of the events we have planned so far:

Princess Connect! Re:Dive

With over 50 heroines, a star-studded voice cast, an expansive storyline, and beautifully animated scenes, Princess Connect! Re:Dive is one of Cygames' must-play titles. Stay tuned as we introduce Princess Connect! Re:Dive leaders, cards, emblems, and flairs!

One Punch Man

We'll also be doing a tie-in with the popular anime series One Punch Man. More details will follow at a later date.

Other tie-ins are also being planned—keep checking back with us to stay in the loop as information is revealed!
