Starter Deck Series: Recap
The Starter Deck Series you’re reading is for players who just started playing Shadowverse and neither have a big collection of cards nor an idea of what kind of deck to build.
One of the top-ranking players, Kazuyuki Takimura, otherwise known as Takiniki, introduces seven sample decks based on the seven classes and gives pointers on how to use them.
All decks consist of bronze and silver cards only. The low cost to build each deck is a major draw. If you want to include gold or Legendary cards, each article will cover what cards to swap in and out as well.
Starter Deck Series: Forestcraft
This is a combo deck that plays low-cost followers back-to-back and then buffs them up for the win. Use various strategies such as overwhelming your opponent with a board full of fairies or taking advantage of Fanfare abilities.
Starter Deck Series: Swordcraft
This is a powerful and extremely aggressive deck that’s easy to build. You’re guaranteed fast board development with many low-cost followers. Relentlessly attack your opponent from the start of the match!
Starter Deck Series: Runecraft
Built around the Earth Rite mechanic, this deck revs into full gear around the midgame. It’s a non-traditional deck that’s perfect for seasoned players looking for a challenge.
Starter Deck Series: Dragoncraft
This deck has a simple strategy—increase your play points and play high-cost followers as early as possible. Many of the followers truly shine when Overflow is activated. Overwhelm your opponent by sheer stats if you can increase your play points quickly.
Starter Deck Series: Shadowcraft
This is a “sticky deck.” That means it consists of various followers that refuse to leave the board due to their Last Words abilities. It lacks speed, but you can torment your opponent with pesky persistence.
Starter Deck Series: Bloodcraft
This deck is fast and aggressive! Drive your opponents into a corner while taking damage yourself in order to reap the benefits of Vengeance. Recommended for those who love the thrill of being on the edge of winning or losing.
Starter Deck Series: Havencraft
This defensive deck controls the match by utilizing countdown amulets. Although the deck is slow-paced, it shines when it comes to dealing with various board states.
Feel free to use any of these decks and enjoy your battles. You can do it!
